Time Out New York Kids
2005-07-01
The fairest of the Fair
Pop Art and Modernism don't seem to belong in the same room, but at May's International Contemporary Furniture Fair at NYC's Javits Center, designs influenced by the two schools ruled the kids' roost. And this post-sweet trend is a global thing: Sleek modular pieces and whimsical furnishings by designers from as close as Williamsburg and as distant as Australia lined aisle after aisle. Excited by the burgeoning aesthetic, we scoured the floor and picked our top ten items. If you like what you see here, check out our Designsponge feature from our July/August issue.
