Furniture Not Just for Baby
A far cry from the average children's furniture maker, the New York-based ducduc uses FEC-certified hardwoods and a gender-neutral palette of chocolate browns, celadon, and orange in the pieces it creates. At the ICFF, the company showed off Dylan, a lacquer-white, three-unit modular cradle with changing table, bonding seatª, and four storage drawers that each sported a brightly colored interior. Ducduc furniture is intended to be used over multiple stages of life and in any room of the house, as the pieces are designed to appeal to both adults and their kids. Says father and ducduc co-principal Philip Erdoes: "Why should you have to check your taste at the door when you go into your child's room?"
