When you come right down to it, a child's room is no different than an adult's private digs: It's an expression of personality. And this is especially true when a young one takes over a sibling's space. Previously, this girl's room in Glencoe was all country. with a pink and green palette. But when big sister moved upstairs, the new occupant had no doubt about the design direction she wanted to go in. "It was unbelievable," recalls interior designer Stephanie Wohlner of Highland Park. "Lauren is 10, and she came to me with pages of drawings-the whole room in perspective and pictures from the web of real mod furniture. She definitely had a vision for the room.
