2. do you offer design services?
We love to do this. If you send pictures of the kiddo's room and the rest of your house (along with dimensions if you have them), we will give you suggestions on how best to set it up, including colors and accessories. We have an interior designer in house, and our creative team is composed of bright, talented, young people who would love to help you make your room special.
3. why do you use hardwoods?
A core belief at ducduc is that the furniture you buy today should be used through multiple stages of life. In order to do that, we design our products to be stylish, but not trendy. In addition, we build our products from materials that can last a lifetime. Unlike products made from mdf (board made from glued wood fibers) or fiberboard (which tend to have lifespans of 3-5 years), our hardwood products will last a very long time. You have made an investment in our products, and we want you to enjoy them for a long time.
4. does your furniture meet u.s. safety standards?
Not only do we meet such requirements, we exceed them in many cases. As a father of two, our ceo is very, very focused on safety and no product goes out unless we are comfortable with it. We test our products to make sure they comply with consumer product safety commission standards and astm industry safety standards. We also consult with an outside safety consultant who was a member of the cpsc and sits on the executive committee of the astm.
5. are your products environmentally safe?
Yes. We do everything we can to ensure that low and non-voc finishes are used and none of our products contain formaldehyde (most mdf and fiberboard does). In addition, we ask our vendors to ensure all of the woods that we use are harvested in an environmentally sustainable manner.
6. what kind of community service stuff do you do?
We believe strongly in working with and supporting less fortunate children. We always look for opportunities to partner with children focused community organizations and charities in order to give back to the community. Currently we are evaluating numerous programs including an arts organization for underprivileged children in nyc and an educational community organization for impoverished and orphaned children in south america. If you know of any organizations in your area that we should review, please let us know. In the event we do work with a local group suggested by you, we will do so in your name.
7. what is your return and cancellation policy? is your furniture guaranteed?
We want you to be happy with our products. If there is any manufacturing defect, please call us and we will fix the problem. If you are not satisfied with the product for other reasons, please call us and let us know why. While we can't promise to take all returns, your satisfaction is very important to us and we will work with you to make you happy. This is a fun time in your life and we want to be a part of that.

Please note that all of our products are custom made. Once you place your order, cancellations will not be allowed.
8. do you have a showroom?
Actually, we have a studio where we design all of our products and you are more than welcome to come there and see the lines. We are located at 524 broadway, suite 206 ny ny 10012, at the corner of spring and broadway. Before you come, please call us and schedule an appointment. Due to the popularity of our products, we have been very busy and would hate to see you wait or miss one of us, so please call and make an appointment. By the way, we know that time is an issue for soon to be or new parents, so we will take appointments at virtually any time. just call and ask.
9. do you ship overseas?
Currently, we do not. But this can change at anytime, so if you have a request, please call and we will see what we can do.
10. does your furniture arrive pre-assembled?
Actually, some does and some doesn't. Our cribs arrive unassembled. but, we have done everything to make sure they are easily assembled. Our dressers, armoires, and other pieces do come assembled.
11. do the materials employed in ducduc furniture require any special care?
No different than your other fine, hardwood furniture. We would suggest that you do not use strong cleaning solvents on any of the pieces as that can dull finishes and potentially damage chalkboard surfaces.
12. are gift certificates available?
Yes. call us or email us with the information and we will set it up in our system and send out a certificate. Just let us know to whom and how much and we will take care of the rest.
13. do you have registry service?
Yes, but it's not your typical service. Here is how it works: you send us an email telling us which products you want. We will then set up a special room to which you can send your friends or we can email your friends and family and let them know what you registered. Just send us the emails and we will take care of the rest.
14. why is the firm called ducduc?
We wanted a fun but sophisticated name that you would remember. Did it work?
